A TYPICAL DAY AT THE GURUKULAM:

 

Swami Dayanandaji usually determines the schedule of daily activities. The following typical schedule gives an idea of what a typical day is likely to be. Items marked with an asterisk (*) may not always take place and you are not required to attend them. The schedule will be modified to allow for the arrival day, the departure day, SwamajiÕs other commitments, and other activities or emergencies at the gurukulam. Students are expected to attend Yoga & Sound workshop activities which are underlined:

 

6:00 AM:                       Arati (Morning temple puja)*

 

6:45 AM:                       Meditation*

 

7:15 AM:                       Breakfast

 

9:00 AM to 11:30 AM:   Yoga Class

 

11:45 AM:                     Lunch        

 

2:30 PM:                       Tea

 

2:45 PM to 5:15 PM:      Music/Yoga. Usually an hour of music class followed by Asana or Pranayama

 

5:30 PM to 6:30 PM:      Vedanta Class*

 

6:30 PM:                       Aarati (Evening Temple Prayer)*

 

7:15 PM:                       Dinner

 

8:30 PM:                       Satsanga (Vedanta informal discussion or Q&A)
